We're in Vegas, mind you we are toast !!It was a very long day today. I took over 160 pictures today. We left the campground and drove through tioga pass at yosemite. The roads there were not too bad. the views were nice some lakes alpine meadows shear rock faces. We did collect some big pine cones from the camp outside of yosemite. Then we headed south for death valley. We made it through there it was a long drive with temps as high as 111. Kev was afraid the car would overheat especially with a sign saying turn off the air conditioning to prevent vehicle from overheating. So we drove for about an hour in the heat. At that temp when you put your hand out the window it feels like a dryer vent. We stopped at this little store and the clerk told us it was cooler today. I asked why he would want to live there and he said he likes it there. I guess it takes all kinds. There were these cool little tree things all over that looked like a cross between a cactus and a palm tree. I took some pics but don't know what they are called. We got over the mountains and We thought we would try for the outskirts of Vegas. However by the time we got there it was dark we had no idea where to stay and the roads are many lanes. I was hot and tired and so was Kev fortunately he stayed much calmer then me and as I was yelling we found a hotel with Bonnie"s help. Right near the mandalay bay. Unfortunately we were to tired to do anything but catch up the blog and got to bed. we are heading to the hoover dam and route 66 tomorrow.
